Limited Warranty | AQUALIVIA Water Treatment Systems

AQUALIVIA Limited Warranty

Last updated: August 3, 2026

This Limited Warranty applies to water treatment systems and components sold by AQUALIVIA LLC ("AQUALIVIA," "we," "us") and shipped to customers in the United States. It is available for review before purchase and is incorporated into our Terms & Conditions. Please read it in full and keep a copy with your order confirmation.

Who Is Covered

This warranty extends only to the original purchaser at the original installation address, for equipment installed in a single-family residence in the United States. It is not transferable and does not survive resale of the equipment or removal from the original installation location. Proof of purchase is required. Product registration is not required for coverage.

AQUALIVIA Is Your Warrantor

AQUALIVIA LLC is the warrantor of this Limited Warranty. Our systems are built with Clack components, and our supplier supports us under a dealer warranty, but your warranty is with AQUALIVIA. You do not need to contact Clack, our supplier, or any other manufacturer, and you do not need to negotiate with anyone else. One company stands behind the system: us. Bring every claim to AQUALIVIA and we will handle it.

Coverage Periods

AQUALIVIA sells equipment. AQUALIVIA does not install equipment and does not perform on-site service. Coverage below is parts-only, runs from the date of delivery, is against defects in materials and workmanship, applies to the original purchaser at the site of original installation, and is subject to every condition and exclusion in this warranty. Coverage is not pro-rated: a covered part is repaired or replaced for the full term shown, with no reduction in value as the term runs.

"System only" means the unit or housing is covered for the period shown, but the consumable parts inside it (filters, membranes, cartridges, and UV lamps) are wear items and are not covered except for a defect on arrival. Where a specific product term and a general component term above both apply, the product term governs for that product. Filter media and all consumables are not covered except for a defect on arrival; see below.

Installation: How to Get This Right

A correct installation is the single biggest factor in whether your system performs and whether you ever need this warranty. We would rather help you install it correctly than argue about a claim later. Read this section before you schedule anything, and call us if anything is unclear. Programming and startup support is free.

Who should install your system

Recommended: a certified water treatment professional (for example a WQA Certified Installer or Certified Water Specialist) who has experience with Clack control valves and who is licensed or permitted to perform the plumbing connection in your jurisdiction.

Acceptable: a licensed plumber for the plumbing connection, with programming and startup performed according to AQUALIVIA's published instructions. A plumbing license alone does not mean the installer knows Clack valve programming. Call us and we will support the programming at no charge.

Permitted, at your own risk: self-installation, in strict accordance with AQUALIVIA's written instructions and installation video, and in compliance with all local plumbing and building codes and permit requirements.

We do not require you to use any particular installer, and using your own installer or installing the system yourself does not by itself void this warranty. What is excluded is damage or failure that an incorrect installation actually causes.

Questions to ask before you hire someone

  • Have you programmed a Clack control valve before? Which models?
  • Can you show me a whole-house system you installed?
  • Are you licensed and insured for plumbing work here, and will you pull a permit if one is required?
  • Does your quote include the drain line, the bypass, tank support, and a drain pan?
  • Will you check my static water pressure, and install a pressure regulator if it exceeds 120 PSI?
  • Will you perform a startup, program the valve to my water hardness, and do a leak check before leaving?

Red flags: an installer who has never seen a Clack valve, who quotes without asking about your water test, who will not check water pressure, or who leaves the drain line and bypass out of the scope.

Installation must follow our published instructions

The AQUALIVIA written installation instructions supplied with your system, and, where we publish one for that system, the AQUALIVIA installation video, together form the published standard for installing our systems. Installation must follow them and must comply with all applicable plumbing and building codes and permit requirements. They are general guidance for a correctly configured, in-specification system and do not address your local code, permit requirements, or site-specific conditions, which remain your responsibility. Where our instructions and applicable code conflict, code governs.

Reverse osmosis systems: we do not currently publish an installation video for our under-sink RO systems. For those systems the written installation instructions are the sole published standard, and our instructions require installation by a licensed plumber or a certified water treatment professional. See Reverse Osmosis Under-Sink Installation Requirements, which forms part of this warranty.

Installation faults that are not covered

This warranty does not cover any defect, damage, malfunction, or failure caused by an installation that deviates from our published instructions or from applicable code, including but not limited to: incorrect control valve programming or hardness settings; incorrect plumbing sequence or reversed inlet and outlet; a bypass installed or left in the wrong position; an undersized, improperly routed, or unsecured drain line, or a drain line without a proper air gap; unsupported, unlevel, or improperly seated tanks; connection to a hot water line; failure to check and regulate static water pressure; omission of a drain pan or shutoff where a leak would cause damage; and failure to perform a startup and leak check.

Reverse osmosis under-sink systems

AQUALIVIA under-sink reverse osmosis systems are specified for professional installation, and our published instructions require installation by a licensed plumber or a certified water treatment professional. Self-installation does not by itself void this warranty, but this warranty does not cover any defect, damage, or failure caused by an installation that deviates from our published instructions, which includes an installation performed by someone other than a qualified professional. We strongly recommend a leak sensor with automatic shutoff in the cabinet under every RO installation.

Also not covered on RO systems: use of a piercing or self-tapping saddle valve; connection to a hot water line; an improperly placed drain saddle or the absence of an air gap where code requires one; operation outside the system's stated feed pressure or temperature range; membrane damage from chlorine breakthrough caused by a spent or unmaintained carbon pre-filter; failure of existing plumbing, including angle stops, supply lines, drain lines, P-traps, disposals, and cabinet structure, which we do not inspect, repair, or warrant; and connections that were not fully seated to the depth mark. The full requirements are set out at Reverse Osmosis Under-Sink Installation Requirements.

Documentation protects you

Completing our Installation and Startup Checklist is not required for coverage and is not a condition of this warranty. It protects you. If you keep the installer's name and company, the installation invoice, the installation date, and clear photographs of the completed installation, a claim is straightforward to substantiate. Without that documentation, establishing that the installation was correct is harder, and we may need additional information before a claim can be approved.

Installers we refer

Where AQUALIVIA provides the name of an installer, that installer is an independent business, not an employee, agent, partner, subcontractor, or representative of AQUALIVIA. We do not employ, supervise, direct, license, insure, bond, or warrant any referred installer, and we receive no fee, commission, or other compensation for any referral. Any agreement for installation work is solely between you and that installer. AQUALIVIA is not responsible or liable for a referred installer's work, conduct, pricing, scheduling, licensing, insurance, or any damage or loss arising from it. Verify licensing and insurance yourself before hiring anyone.

What We Will Do

We stand behind our systems. For a covered defect, we will, at our option, repair the defective part, replace it, supply an equivalent replacement part, or provide a comparable solution. Coverage is not pro-rated, so a covered part is provided for the full term shown at no charge for the part. Replacement parts are shipped to the original installation address. A repaired or replaced part carries the remainder of the original warranty term, not a new term. Our goal is to make sure your AQUALIVIA system works the way it should. This repair or replacement is your exclusive remedy under this warranty.

What Is Not Covered

Labor, Plumbing, and Property Costs

This warranty covers parts only. It does not cover labor to install, remove, service, or replace a system, media, or filters; plumbing work or plumbing materials; pressure regulating valves; drain lines; electrical work; permits; travel; or any cost of accessing the equipment. It does not cover damage to plumbing, fixtures, appliances, structures, finishes, or personal property.

Consumables and Filter Media

Filter media and consumable components, including ion-exchange resin, activated and catalytic carbon, filtration media, sediment and carbon cartridges, reverse osmosis membranes, post-filters, deionization resin, UV lamps and sleeves, and salt, are wear items consumed through normal use. Their capacity or service life depends on water quality, contaminant levels, and usage. Depletion, exhaustion, fouling, channeling, and reduced performance through normal use are expected and are not defects. Media and consumables are covered only for a defect in materials present on arrival. Clogging or damage resulting from failure to replace a pre-filter, cartridge, membrane, lamp, or media on schedule is the purchaser's responsibility and is treated as neglect.

Installation, Operation, and Maintenance

This warranty does not cover any defect, damage, or failure caused by installation that does not follow our published instructions or applicable plumbing and building codes; operation outside the system's rated specifications; failure to perform required maintenance; use with a non-potable, microbiologically unsafe, or untested water supply; or operation of the system outside the water quality parameters for which it was specified.

Water Conditions Outside Specification

Systems are engineered to defined water quality limits. Exposure to iron, manganese, hydrogen sulfide, tannins, chlorine, chloramine, sediment, oil, bacteria, or other constituents in excess of the system's rated limits is not covered and will not be treated as a defect. Where a claim depends on water conditions, we may require a current water analysis before a claim is approved.

Pressure, Temperature, and Environment

Not covered: water pressure exceeding 120 PSI or pressure surges and water hammer; freezing or temperatures below 32F or above 120F; installation in direct sunlight or outdoors without protection; vacuum conditions in the water line; and power surges or interruptions.

Weather, Flooding, and Physical Damage

Not covered: damage, loss, or failure caused by hurricanes, tropical or named storms, flooding, storm surge, water intrusion, lightning, fire, or other weather events or acts of nature; nor by accident, impact, dropping, vandalism, theft, pests, or any external or physical damage to the equipment.

Work or Parts Provided by Others

This warranty does not cover any defect, damage, malfunction, or failure caused in whole or in part by service, repair, adjustment, modification, disassembly, relocation, or maintenance performed by any person, and it does not cover parts or components supplied by you or by a third party. For clarity, and consistent with federal law, using a replacement filter, part, or component not sold by AQUALIVIA does not by itself void this warranty. What is excluded is any damage or failure that a non-AQUALIVIA part, modification, or service actually causes. Operating the equipment outside normal water conditions, or outside the specification for which it was supplied, is likewise not covered.

System Design and Water Testing Disclaimer

Reliance on Provided Data

AQUALIVIA water treatment systems are configured, specified, and built strictly according to the specific water quality metrics and technical numbers provided by the customer or dealer. AQUALIVIA is responsible solely for designing a system to treat the exact parameters submitted. AQUALIVIA assumes no liability or responsibility for system performance issues, failures, or damages resulting from inaccurate, incomplete, or unrepresentative water data.

Accuracy of Water Testing

AQUALIVIA does not perform or guarantee the primary field or laboratory water testing used to generate system requirements. The accuracy, validity, and method of collection for all water samples and test results are the sole responsibility of the customer, dealer, or independent laboratory. AQUALIVIA is not responsible for errors in testing, fluctuating water tables, seasonal water changes, or contaminants not explicitly reported in the provided numbers.

Mandatory High-Contaminant Limits and Review Policy

Standard automated sizing and direct purchases are restricted for water supplies exhibiting extreme contaminant levels. AQUALIVIA must be contacted directly for a mandatory design review prior to purchase if any water test meets or exceeds the following thresholds:

ConstituentMandatory review at
Hydrogen sulfide (sulfur)Above 5 ppm
IronAbove 10 ppm
ManganeseAbove 5 ppm

For any water profile exceeding these limits, AQUALIVIA reserves the right to withhold system recommendations until a comprehensive, certified laboratory water analysis is provided for manual evaluation. A system purchased and installed on water exceeding these thresholds without a completed AQUALIVIA design review is used outside its rated specification. Any resulting underperformance, fouling, media damage, or component failure is not a defect and is not covered by this warranty.

Performance

Performance depends on water quality, contaminant levels, sizing, operating conditions, water pressure, and site-specific factors. Results may vary, and complete removal of all contaminants, minerals, or impurities is not guaranteed. Performance shortfalls arising from inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated water data are not defects and are not covered.

Performance issues are not automatically warranty issues. Before any warranty claim or return is authorized, you must give AQUALIVIA a reasonable opportunity to troubleshoot the system with you, and you must supply a current water analysis if we request one.

Shipping, Freight Damage, and Shortages

Inspect every shipment at delivery. Visible damage must be noted on the delivery receipt and reported to AQUALIVIA within five (5) days of delivery. Concealed damage, shortages, and missing components must be reported in writing within fifteen (15) days of delivery. After fifteen (15) days, freight damage and shortage claims are closed and the shipment is deemed accepted as delivered. Retain all original packaging until inspection is complete. These windows match our Shipping Policy and Return Policy.

Limitation of Implied Warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, any implied warranties, including the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, are limited in duration to the applicable written warranty period stated above.

Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitation may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, AQUALIVIA shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or contingent damages, including property damage, water damage, mold, loss of use, loss of income, or business interruption, arising from the sale, installation, use, condition, or failure of any product. AQUALIVIA's total aggregate liability, if any, shall not exceed the purchase price actually paid for the product giving rise to the claim. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above may not apply to you.

Leak Risk and Homeowner Responsibility

Water treatment equipment is connected to pressurized plumbing and carries an inherent risk of leaks. Install the equipment where a leak will not cause damage, and install a drain pan, leak sensor, or automatic shutoff device where appropriate. Water pressure regulation is the owner's responsibility and should be evaluated by a licensed plumber. Periodically inspect the equipment and connections, and shut off the water supply immediately if any leak or abnormal condition appears.

Insurance

If you maintain homeowner's, renter's, flood, or umbrella insurance applicable to a claim or loss related to the equipment, you agree to first submit the claim to that insurance as the primary source of recovery. As between you and AQUALIVIA, AQUALIVIA's liability, if any, is secondary and limited as stated above. This provision governs only the relationship between you and AQUALIVIA and does not alter the obligations of any insurer.

State Law and California Residents

This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may have other rights which vary from state to state. Nothing in this warranty limits any right you have that cannot be waived under applicable state or federal law, including the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. Where a provision of this warranty is unenforceable in your state, that provision applies only to the extent permitted and the remainder stays in effect.

California residents: nothing in this warranty limits any non-waivable right under the Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act. California customers may also have rights regarding repair, replacement, or reimbursement that this warranty does not restrict.

How to File a Warranty Claim

Contact AQUALIVIA. We are your warrantor and your single point of contact. Provide your order number, a description of the issue, and photographs or video. Do not remove, return, ship, or have any component serviced before we authorize it. All warranty returns require an RMA number issued by AQUALIVIA. Unauthorized returns will be refused. Where we require a defective part to be returned for inspection, transportation and freight charges are the owner's responsibility unless we state otherwise in writing. No labor charge is applied by AQUALIVIA for a covered part repair or replacement.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does an RO system have to be professionally installed?

Yes. Our under-sink RO systems are specified for professional installation and our published instructions require a licensed plumber or certified water treatment professional. Self-installation does not by itself void the warranty, but damage caused by an installation that deviates from our instructions is not covered. We also strongly recommend a leak sensor with automatic shutoff in the cabinet. See our RO Installation Requirements page.

Who should install my system?

We recommend a certified water treatment professional experienced with Clack control valves who is also licensed to do the plumbing connection where you live. A licensed plumber is acceptable for the plumbing, but a plumbing license alone does not mean they know Clack programming, so call us for free programming support. Self-installation is permitted at your own risk if you follow our written instructions and video and comply with local codes and permits.

Does installing it myself void the warranty?

No. Self-installation does not by itself void the warranty. What is excluded is damage or failure that an incorrect installation actually causes, such as wrong valve programming, reversed inlet and outlet, a bypass left in the wrong position, a faulty drain line, unsupported tanks, or failure to check water pressure.

Is the warranty pro-rated?

No. Coverage is not pro-rated. A covered defect is repaired or replaced for the full term shown, at no charge for the part, whether it fails in year one or near the end of the term. The warranty is parts-only and does not include labor, shipping, installation, or removal.

Is AQUALIVIA responsible for an installer it refers?

No. Any installer we name is an independent business, not our employee or agent. We do not supervise, license, insure, or warrant them, and we take no fee for a referral. Your agreement is with that installer, and you should verify their licensing and insurance yourself.

How long is the AQUALIVIA warranty?

Coverage is tiered. Mineral tanks up to 13 by 54 inches: 10 years (larger tanks 5 years). Control valves and brine tanks: 5 years. Accessories and components: 1 year. Product terms: AQUAREX 5 years, OZONEX 1 year, AquaVRay UV 1 year, HydroClear 1 year (system only), AquaRevive Holding Tank 3 years, AquaRevive Reverse Osmosis 1 year (system only). Coverage is not pro-rated. Every system also carries a 30-day defect-on-arrival warranty.

Who is the warrantor, AQUALIVIA or Clack?

AQUALIVIA is your warrantor. Our systems are built with Clack components and our supplier supports us under a dealer warranty, but your warranty is with AQUALIVIA. You never need to contact Clack or any other manufacturer. Bring every claim to us and we handle it.

Are filter media and consumables covered?

No. Resin, carbon, filtration media, cartridges, RO membranes, DI resin, and salt are wear items consumed through normal use. Depletion, exhaustion, fouling, and channeling are expected and are not defects. They are covered only for a defect in materials present on arrival.

Does AQUALIVIA cover installation labor or plumbing costs?

No. We sell equipment and do not install it. The warranty is parts-only. Labor, plumbing, and property costs are not covered.

Will a non-AQUALIVIA replacement filter void my warranty?

No. Using a third-party part does not by itself void your warranty. What is excluded is any damage or failure that a third-party part, modification, or service actually causes.

What if my system arrives damaged?

Note visible damage on the delivery receipt and report it within 5 days. Report concealed damage, shortages, and missing parts within 15 days of delivery. After 15 days these claims are closed.

My system is not performing as expected. Is that a warranty claim?

Not automatically. Sizing is based on the water data you provide. Contact support first so we can troubleshoot and, if needed, request a current water test to confirm the system is operating within its rated specification.

Are there water conditions that require a design review before I buy?

Yes. Standard automated sizing and direct purchase are restricted where your water test shows hydrogen sulfide above 5 ppm, iron above 10 ppm, or manganese above 5 ppm. Contact us for a mandatory design review before purchase. We may withhold a recommendation until a certified laboratory analysis is provided.

Who is responsible for the accuracy of my water test?

You are. We do not perform or guarantee the field or laboratory testing used to size a system. Systems are built strictly to the parameters submitted. We are not responsible for testing errors, fluctuating water tables, seasonal changes, or contaminants that were not reported.

How do I file a claim?

Contact AQUALIVIA support with your order number and photos or video. Do not remove, ship, or service any component before we authorize it. All warranty returns require an RMA number.
