System Design & Water Testing Notice
Last updated: August 3, 2026
Every AQUALIVIA system is built to solve your water, not water in general. That only works when the water data we design from is accurate. This notice explains how sizing works, what you are responsible for, what we are responsible for, and the water conditions that require a design review before you buy. Please read it before you order. It is part of our Terms & Conditions and works together with our Limited Warranty.
In one line
We design and build your system strictly to the water test numbers you or your dealer give us. If those numbers are wrong, incomplete, or change over time, the system can be correctly built and still underperform, and that is not a defect. Good data in means a system that works.
1.Reliance on Provided Data
AQUALIVIA water treatment systems are configured, specified, and built strictly according to the specific water quality metrics and technical numbers provided by the customer or dealer. AQUALIVIA is responsible solely for designing a system to treat the exact parameters submitted. AQUALIVIA assumes no liability or responsibility for system performance issues, failures, or damages resulting from inaccurate, incomplete, or unrepresentative water data.
In plain terms: we size resin volume, media type, flow rates, and regeneration to the hardness, iron, pH, TDS, and other values on your test. Submit a value that is too low, leave a contaminant off the report, or send a sample that does not represent your water, and the system we build to those numbers may not deliver the result you expected, through no fault of the equipment.
2.Accuracy of Water Testing
AQUALIVIA does not perform or guarantee the primary field or laboratory water testing used to generate system requirements. The accuracy, validity, and method of collection for all water samples and test results are the sole responsibility of the customer, dealer, or independent laboratory. AQUALIVIA is not responsible for errors in testing, fluctuating water tables, seasonal water changes, or contaminants not explicitly reported in the provided numbers.
Well water changes; city water can too
Private well water is especially variable. Iron, sulfur, manganese, and hardness can shift with the season, the water table, rainfall, and pump activity, so a single sample taken on one day may not represent your water across the year. City water is more stable but can still change when your utility adjusts its source or treatment. If your water changes after your system is sized, contact us; the fix is usually a settings change or added pre-treatment, handled through support, not a defect.
How to submit a test we can design from
- Use a certified laboratory analysis where possible, especially for well water. Home strip kits are a starting point, not a design basis.
- Sample from an untreated tap ahead of any existing softener or filter, unless we ask otherwise.
- Report the full set of values, not just hardness: iron, manganese, hydrogen sulfide (sulfur), pH, TDS, tannins, chlorine or chloramine, bacteria, and static water pressure.
- Tell us about anything unusual: odor, staining, sediment, a shared or seasonal well, or recent plumbing or utility changes.
3.Mandatory High-Contaminant Limits & Review Policy
Standard automated sizing and direct purchases are restricted for water supplies exhibiting extreme contaminant levels. AQUALIVIA must be contacted directly for a mandatory design review prior to purchase if any water test meets or exceeds the following thresholds:
| Constituent | Mandatory review at |
|---|---|
| Hydrogen sulfide (sulfur) | Above 5 ppm |
| Iron | Above 10 ppm |
| Manganese | Above 5 ppm |
For any water profile exceeding these limits, AQUALIVIA reserves the right to withhold system recommendations until a comprehensive, certified laboratory water analysis is provided for manual evaluation.
If you buy without the required review
If you purchase and install a system on water exceeding these thresholds without completing an AQUALIVIA design review, the system is operating outside its rated specification. Any resulting underperformance, fouling, media damage, or component failure is not a defect, is not covered by the Limited Warranty, and does not entitle you to a refund outside the standard terms of our Return Policy.
4.Who Is Responsible for What
| You (or your dealer) are responsible for | AQUALIVIA is responsible for |
|---|---|
| The accuracy, completeness, and collection method of the water test. | Designing a system to correctly treat the exact parameters you submit. |
| Reporting all relevant contaminants, pressure, and site conditions. | Specifying appropriate media, resin volume, and flow for those parameters. |
| Contacting us for a design review when a threshold above is met. | Providing free programming and startup support for the system we sized. |
| Correct installation, pre-treatment, and ongoing maintenance. | Honoring the Limited Warranty for defects in materials and workmanship. |
5.Recommendations Are Not a Guarantee of Results
Any recommendation, sizing, quiz result, or calculator output we provide is informational, is based entirely on the information you supply, and is not professional engineering, plumbing, or medical advice. Performance depends on water quality, contaminant levels, sizing, operating conditions, water pressure, and site-specific factors, and results may vary. Complete removal of all contaminants, minerals, or impurities is not guaranteed. A performance shortfall traceable to inaccurate or incomplete water data, to seasonal or water-table changes, to unreported contaminants, to installation, or to operation outside the system's rated specification is handled through our free troubleshooting support, not as an automatic warranty claim or refund. Before any warranty claim or return is authorized, contact us so we can troubleshoot and, if needed, request a current water analysis.
