Description

The Invisible Chemical Cocktail in City Water

Municipal water arrives disinfected, but far from finished. Chlorine, volatile organic compounds, herbicides, trihalomethanes, and dozens of synthetic pollutants pass through treatment plants designed decades before these contaminants even existed. You taste chlorine in your morning coffee. You smell it rising from the shower. What you cannot detect are the disinfection byproducts (DBPs) that accumulate in pipes and bind to surfaces long after the chlorine smell fades.

These contaminants do not just affect flavor. They dry skin, damage fixtures, and place hidden strain on appliances. Standard carbon filters reduce some chlorine temporarily but fail to address deeper contamination layers found in modern municipal supplies. That is where AquaProTec Ultra 64K Catalytic Carbon Filter begins, with a 2-cubic-foot catalytic carbon bed engineered not to mask symptoms but to actively oxidize and remove the compounds other systems leave behind. To better understand these challenges, explore our Complete City Water Treatment Systems for Homes designed for comprehensive municipal water improvement.

The Certified Solution: Catalytic Oxidation Meets American Engineering

This is not standard granular carbon. The AquaProTec Ultra 64K employs INDOCARB E124 Catalytic Carbon, a specialized media that actively breaks down chloramines, phenols, PAHs, and disinfection byproducts through enhanced surface reactivity. Unlike traditional carbon that relies solely on adsorption, catalytic carbon accelerates chemical oxidation, neutralizing contaminants at the molecular level before they reach your taps.

Mounted in a durable 12" x 52" mineral tank, the system delivers up to 27 GPM flow at a 15 PSI drop, sufficient for 2-3 bathroom homes without sacrificing pressure during peak demand. The Clack WS1 control valve automates backwash cycles to maintain media performance, extending bed life and ensuring contaminant removal remains consistent year after year. Built in the USA with NSF/ANSI certified components, including NSF Standard 61 compliance and WQA Gold Seal certification, every stage meets the rigorous standards required of professional-grade residential equipment. For deeper insight into the engineering behind this media, visit our Water Treatment Media & Resins collection.

Pure Water Living: The Result You Experience Daily

Water treated through the AquaProTec Ultra 64K no longer carries the sharp bite of chlorine or the lingering haze of chemical residue. Coffee tastes cleaner. Showers feel softer. Ice cubes form clear, not cloudy. Skin retains moisture. Hair responds to conditioning. Fixtures stay cleaner longer. Laundry emerges fresher without absorbing odors.

These are not minor conveniences. They represent fundamental improvements to how your family experiences water every day, across drinking, cooking, bathing, and cleaning. With a service life extending beyond 10 years, the system protects not only your health but also the plumbing, appliances, and infrastructure that depend on clean water flowing through them. Pure Water. Pure Trust.

Completing Your Water Strategy

While the AquaProTec Ultra 64K eliminates chlorine and organic contaminants, it does not address hardness minerals. If your city water also causes scale buildup in pipes, water heaters, or appliances, consider pairing this system with our Whole House Water Softeners for Homes to control mineral deposits and extend equipment lifespan. Complete treatment begins with understanding what your water actually contains, not guessing based on location or reputation.
