Description

When Commercial Operations Depend on Reliable Water Quality

Commercial environments do not allow for equipment downtime, customer complaints, or unpredictable operating costs. Hard water creates all three. Scale accumulates inside boilers, dishwashers, laundries, and cooling systems, reducing efficiency and accelerating wear. Mineral deposits restrict flow, insulate heating elements, and clog valves. Over time, these issues translate into higher energy bills, more frequent repairs, and premature equipment replacement.

Unlike residential settings where water use is relatively predictable, commercial facilities experience sustained high-volume demand with limited tolerance for performance interruptions. Standard residential softeners cannot handle the flow rates, regeneration cycles, or mineral loads required in restaurants, hotels, manufacturing plants, or multi-unit buildings. Equipment sized incorrectly leads to breakthrough hardness, incomplete regeneration, and rapid resin exhaustion.

Where Does Hard Water Cause Commercial Damage?

  • Boilers and steamers with thick scale insulation reducing heat transfer
  • Dishwashers producing spotty glassware and mineral residue on tableware
  • Laundry systems with stiff linens and increased detergent consumption
  • Cooling towers experiencing restricted flow and biological fouling
  • Water heaters operating inefficiently and requiring frequent descaling

The EVOSOFT™ Elite 180K Grain Well Commercial Water Softener addresses these challenges with a 180,000-grain capacity housed in a robust 16" × 65" mineral tank. For operations managing multiple water quality issues beyond hardness alone, understanding how complete well water treatment systems coordinate filtration and softening ensures comprehensive protection.

The Engineering Behind Heavy-Duty Commercial Softening

The EVOSOFT™ Elite 180K uses Purolite™ Shallow Shell SSTC60 resin, an advanced cation exchange media specifically engineered for high-demand applications. Shallow shell technology provides increased kinetic performance and enhanced resistance to oxidation and fouling compared to standard gel-based resins. This design maintains efficiency even when exposed to chlorine, iron, or variable water chemistry common in well water and industrial supplies.

With 6 cubic feet of resin and a 40 gpm maximum flow rate at controlled pressure drop, this system supports operations requiring simultaneous water use across multiple zones without sacrificing pressure or softening performance. The Clack WS2 2" control valve offers precision metered regeneration, regenerating only when actual capacity is exhausted rather than on arbitrary time schedules. This reduces salt consumption, minimizes water waste, and extends the operational lifespan of the resin bed.

Built in the USA and certified to NSF/ANSI 44 and NSF/ANSI/CAN Standard 61, the system meets rigorous performance and material safety standards. The 18" × 36" brine tank provides adequate salt storage for extended regeneration intervals, and the integrated bypass valve simplifies maintenance without interrupting facility operations. When iron accompanies hardness in well water supplies, pretreatment becomes critical to prevent resin fouling. More information on coordinated approaches is available through iron removal systems designed for commercial environments.

Pure Water Living

Softened water transforms commercial operations. Glassware emerges spotless from dishwashers, linens feel softer and last longer, and equipment operates at design efficiency without scale-related energy penalties. Maintenance intervals extend, repair costs decline, and customer satisfaction improves when water quality supports rather than undermines service delivery.

For facilities serving 20 or more occupants, managing commercial-scale hardness, or operating equipment sensitive to mineral buildup, the EVOSOFT™ Elite 180K delivers the capacity and durability required for long-term performance. With a 10-year service life on the mineral tank and minimal intervention beyond routine salt replenishment, this system provides reliable protection without constant oversight. Pure Water. Pure Trust.

Warranty

AQUALIVIA Warranty
At AQUALIVIA, we stand behind the quality of our water treatment systems. Every product is built to last, and we are proud to offer strong warranty coverage for peace of mind. You deal with one company: us. AQUALIVIA is your warrantor, so there is no manufacturer to chase and no one else to negotiate with. One claim, one contact.
What's covered
Coverage is parts-only, for the original purchaser, and runs from the delivery date.
Tanks and core components:

  • Mineral tanks: 10 years (up to 13" x 54"), 5 years for larger tanks
  • Control valves: 5 years
