Description
The Hidden Chemistry Damaging Your Well
Private well owners face a double burden most municipal users never encounter. Iron stains orange rings around every fixture, builds inside water heaters, and ruins laundry before the first wash cycle finishes. Sulfur releases that unmistakable rotten-egg smell during showers and cooking, turning guests uncomfortable and homeowners frustrated. When these two contaminants appear together, the damage accelerates. Iron feeds sulfur bacteria, creating biofilm and slime that choke pipes and coat plumbing from the pressure tank forward. Standard softeners cannot oxidize iron. Basic filters cannot neutralize hydrogen sulfide gas. Without coordinated treatment, staining persists, odor returns, and equipment fails prematurely.
The WellFusion™ Ultra 64K addresses both contaminants simultaneously at the point of entry, preventing oxidation and bacterial growth before damage spreads throughout the home. To better understand how these contaminants interact with plumbing systems and why they must be treated together, explore our guide on iron and rust stain removal solutions.
The Certified Solution
Manufactured in the United States with NSF/ANSI 44 and 372 certified components, the WellFusion™ Ultra 64K combines Katalox Light Advanced Filtration Media with INDOCARB® E124 Granular Activated Carbon to deliver chemical-free oxidation and filtration in a single, high-efficiency system. Katalox Light functions as a catalytic oxidizer, converting dissolved ferrous iron and hydrogen sulfide into filterable particles without chlorine injection or chemical maintenance. The media's manganese dioxide coating accelerates oxidation while capturing manganese and arsenic alongside primary contaminants. INDOCARB® carbon follows, reducing residual taste, organic compounds, and disinfection byproducts that often accompany well contamination.
The system operates through a Clack WS1 digital control valve that automates backwash cycles based on water usage and system demand. This prevents media fouling and ensures consistent treatment under variable well conditions common in private supplies. With a 64,000-grain capacity and two cubic feet of media volume, the Ultra 64K supports medium-sized homes with two to four occupants and two to three bathrooms. Flow rates reach 27 gallons per minute at a 15 PSI pressure drop, maintaining strong delivery even during peak demand periods such as morning showers and evening dishwashing.
For homes requiring microbial protection in addition to iron and sulfur treatment, consider pairing this system with whole house UV water purification systems for chemical-free disinfection.
Pure Water Living
When iron and sulfur are removed at the source, daily life improves in ways most homeowners never anticipated. Showers no longer fill with unpleasant odor. White fabrics remain white through repeated washing. Coffee tastes clean. Fixtures stay free of rust staining. Water heaters operate efficiently without sediment buildup. Appliances last longer. Plumbing maintains full flow capacity. These are not minor conveniences. They are measurable improvements in home performance, health, and long-term cost control.
The WellFusion™ Ultra 64K is designed to operate reliably for ten to fifteen years with proper maintenance and media replacement. Because the system requires no salt, no chemicals, and no complex regeneration schedules, ongoing operation remains straightforward. Backwash cycles occur automatically based on usage. Media replacement intervals are predictable. System diagnostics are built into the control valve. This is water treatment engineered for consistency, not complexity. Pure Water. Pure Trust.
Completing Your Water Strategy
Iron and sulfur removal protects plumbing and improves water quality, but well water often carries additional contaminants that require targeted treatment. If your well water contains elevated hardness or fluctuating mineral levels, integrating a well water softener designed for heavy-duty operation will prevent scale buildup and extend the life of your iron and sulfur breaker. For complete protection, consider pairing this system with sediment filtration and UV disinfection to address the full spectrum of well water challenges.

- Damage caused by misuse, freezing, flooding, storms, power surges, or improper installation
- Damage caused by a non-AQUALIVIA part, or by operating the system outside normal water conditions or its rated specification
- Installation, labor, plumbing, and property costs
Using a non-AQUALIVIA replacement filter or part does not by itself void your warranty. What is not covered is damage that such a part actually causes.
Reverse osmosis, please note
Under-sink RO systems require professional installation, and we strongly recommend a leak sensor with automatic shutoff in the cabinet. Please read the RO Installation Requirements before installing.
