Description
When Acidic Water Quietly Damages Your Plumbing
Water with a low pH often appears perfectly clear, yet it can slowly damage plumbing systems throughout the home. Acidic water gradually corrodes copper pipes, brass fittings, valves, and plumbing fixtures, leading to pinhole leaks, blue-green staining, metallic taste, and shortened appliance life. These problems develop over time, making pH correction one of the most important steps in protecting both water quality and household plumbing.
Neutralizing acidic water before it enters the home's plumbing system helps reduce corrosion while creating more balanced water chemistry. Rather than relying on chemical injection, calcite naturally raises pH as water passes through the mineral bed, providing dependable whole-house protection with minimal maintenance.
Where Does Low pH Cause Problems?
- Copper pipe corrosion and pinhole leaks
- Blue and green staining on sinks, tubs, and fixtures
- Metallic taste caused by plumbing corrosion
- Premature wear on water heaters and plumbing components
- Reduced performance of downstream water treatment equipment
That's why Calcite for pH Neutralizer systems is engineered to restore balanced water chemistry before water reaches your home's plumbing.
Engineering Designed for Natural pH Correction
Calcite is a naturally occurring calcium carbonate media that slowly dissolves as acidic water flows through the treatment tank. This controlled dissolution raises water pH while reducing the corrosive characteristics associated with low-pH well water. Because the media is consumed during the neutralization process, periodic replenishment maintains consistent system performance.
A standard 10" × 54" mineral tank provides sufficient contact time for effective pH adjustment across typical residential flow rates. As water chemistry becomes more balanced, plumbing systems receive greater protection while downstream filtration, water softeners, reverse osmosis systems, and specialty treatment equipment can operate under more favorable conditions.
The chemical-free process requires no pumps, chemical feed systems, or electrical components within the media itself, making calcite a dependable solution for long-term residential water treatment.
Pure Water Living
Balanced water chemistry protects more than plumbing. It supports the long-term reliability of appliances, preserves fixtures, and helps maintain consistent water quality throughout the home. Families benefit from fewer plumbing repairs, reduced corrosion, and water that is more compatible with complete whole-house treatment systems.
By correcting acidity at the point where water enters the home, calcite provides an important foundation for dependable water treatment while helping protect the investment homeowners have made in their plumbing and water equipment.
That's what happens when balanced water chemistry becomes part of your home's complete water strategy. Pure Water. Pure Trust.
Completing Your Water Strategy
pH correction is often the first stage of whole-house water treatment. Once water chemistry has been balanced, additional treatment systems such as iron filtration, water softeners, activated carbon filters, ultraviolet disinfection, or reverse osmosis systems can operate more effectively depending on the home's specific water conditions.

- Mineral tanks: 10 years (up to 13" x 54"), 5 years for larger tanks
- Control valves: 5 years
- Brine tanks: 5 years
- Accessories and components: 1 year
By product:
- AQUAREX Whole House Filter: 5 years
- OZONEX Ozone Systems: 1 year

- HydroClear: 1 year (system only)
- AquaRevive Holding Tank: 3 years
- AquaRevive Reverse Osmosis: 1 year (system only)
Every system: 30-day defect-on-arrival guarantee
"System only" means the unit is covered, but the filters, membranes, cartridges, and lamps inside it are consumables.
What's not covered
- Consumables and wear items: filters, resins, membranes, UV lamps, cartridges, and salt (except a defect on arrival)
- Damage caused by misuse, freezing, flooding, storms, power surges, or improper installation
- Damage caused by a non-AQUALIVIA part, or by operating the system outside normal water conditions or its rated specification
- Installation, labor, plumbing, and property costs
Using a non-AQUALIVIA replacement filter or part does not by itself void your warranty. What is not covered is damage that such a part actually causes.
Reverse osmosis, please note
Under-sink RO systems require professional installation, and we strongly recommend a leak sensor with automatic shutoff in the cabinet. Please read the RO Installation Requirements before installing.
